How to Rock Ankle Boots

You’ve seen the first part of my  Windsor Smith campaign – now as promised, is part two: ankle boots. The obsession with boots continues as I show you some of my favourite ways to style this upcoming winter necessity that all girls should have in their closets, regardless of season really I think everyone should own at least several pairs of ankle boots. Right?

Whether you’re here or on the other side of the globe, ankle boots are a staple that if chosen carefully and treated right, you’ll have for very long time and will work with just about anything. From dresses to jeans and short shorts, booties are comfortable, not too dressy and look awesome on. Here I’ve paired my favourite five pairs of Windsor Smith ankle boots with all-black ensembles fitting for Melbourne’s ever fluctuating autumn/winter temperatures.

Let’s start with look one. Quite possibly my favourite look – and favourite shoes – of them all, I went for something a little more risqué to tie in with the edginess of the patent boots with that killer blue perspex heel. Y’all know I like to make looks a little sexy while leaving enough for the imagination, I couldn’t resist teaming these bad boys with a knitted sheer midi dress.

Look two is a little more tamed; a knitted dress with a textured biker jacket to work with these super comfortable suede ankle boots. It’s casual but not, with its velvety black textures and styling that’s perfect for day and night.

The third look was a little dressier – I opted for a mini dress with eyelet detailing to match the gold hardware of the lace up booties and its perspex heels. Ideal for a night out where you can still look bangin and feel relaxed at the same time.

The fourth ensemble I went back to casual, but this time donned double leather. I love the studded detailing of these boots, they’re so badass but so chic. Again, I wanted to match the hardware (you know how I like things to flow) and keep the little details silver throughout. Giving off rocker vibes, this is probably my second favourite look.

And last, but not least – the fifth look is a triple threat – leather, on leather, on leather… With more leather. So… quadruple threat? Great if the weather permits to show a little more skin, but keeping the vitals cosy with the all-leather fabrication. It’s simple, sexy and the little elastic lacing of the sides of the boots are a perfect compliment.

So five pairs of ankle boots, interpreted my way. There are probably a million ways to style these but this is just a few of the combinations that I love that draw attention to the boots without overpowering the entire ensemble. You can find these styles online or in store at Windsor Smith – and if these don’t tickle your fancy as much there’s a ton more styles to choose from.

Which look is your favourite?
