I’m usually a warm weather kind of girl. But lately, I’ve been craving the cool change and overcast autumn/winter days over the humid, sweltering temperatures that summer has been throwing lately. And now it’s autumn – well, quite frankly, it’s still too damn hot. But thankfully, it’s just about cool enough to rock one of my favourite styles of footwear ever: the thigh high boots. I mean, not that weather often determines the type of shoes I wear, but generally speaking thigh highs are best suited to cooler weather. No one wants sweaty legs – but then again, it’s a small price to pay for looking so damn good.
Thanks to my good friends at Windsor Smith, with whom I’ve recently had the pleasure of teaming up with for their autumn March campaign – my TH (thigh high) and OTK (over the knee) cravings are satisfied. I’ve chosen eight different styles of autumn/winter footwear to style for the cooler season (if you’re on the other side of the globe, it’s cool – y’all can still rock them too) – that I’ve split into two posts, the first and foremost being this one with THs and OTKs, the second being ankle boots which will come later in the week.
It felt so effortless and came to me so naturally when styling these OTK styles. Keeping the focus on the boots, I went for an all black approach to styling that was minimal, yet bangin’. The first, and one of my favourite looks, is this neoprene pair of sexy ass Windsor Smith thigh highs that go with just about anything, but look especially hot with an over sized sweater dress and fedora. These boots are perfect for day and night, and so super comfortable – don’t let its fierce looks fool you, they are really, that comfortable. And look oh, so, freakin’ sexy no matter what you wear them with.
The second look is more wintery – and super statement-making. I mean, vinyl thigh highs with perspex heels – can they get any hotter? Giving cyber goth vibes – but only a little – these babies are sure to turn heads. I teamed them with a faux fur coat and a body con dress worn underneath to keep it on the classy side.
And lastly, the third look I opted for a casual, start of autumn kind of styling. I stuck to basics like my favourite black tee, trusty black blazer and easy to wear cut off black denim shorts for that ‘just threw on but look super cute and classy’ kinda look. But these leather OTKs will go with just about anything in your wardrobe.
So there’s my three favourite pairs of thigh highs-slash-over-the-knees perfect for the upcoming cooler season for y’all – all from one of my favourite footwear destinations, and all-round cool brand – Windsor Smith. Hope y’all like the way I’ve styled them and be sure to check out their insane range that you too will fast become obsessed with.
