I don’t always wear black. Though it’s my shade of choice, occasionally I do branch out from my noir repertoire and neutral tendencies and slip into palettes I wouldn’t usually do, but deep down – love just as much.
And I don’t always do figure-hugging either. Yeah I like to embrace my feminine form, but have just as much an affinity for something more chic, sophisticated and not necessarily about the sex. But when it comes to the shoes, that’s exactly what it’s all about – the sex appeal.
You’ve seen the first part of my Windsor Smith campaign – now as promised, is part two: ankle boots. The obsession with boots continues as I show you some of my favourite ways to style this upcoming winter necessity that all girls should have in their closets, regardless of season really I think everyone should own at least several pairs of ankle boots. Right?
Whether you’re here or on the other side of the globe, ankle boots are a staple that if chosen carefully and treated right, you’ll have for very long time and will work with just about anything. From dresses to jeans and short shorts, booties are comfortable, not too dressy and look awesome on. Here I’ve paired my favourite five pairs of Windsor Smith ankle boots with all-black ensembles fitting for Melbourne’s ever fluctuating autumn/winter temperatures.
I’m usually a warm weather kind of girl. But lately, I’ve been craving the cool change and overcast autumn/winter days over the humid, sweltering temperatures that summer has been throwing lately. And now it’s autumn – well, quite frankly, it’s still too damn hot. But thankfully, it’s just about cool enough to rock one of my favourite styles of footwear ever: the thigh high boots. I mean, not that weather often determines the type of shoes I wear, but generally speaking thigh highs are best suited to cooler weather. No one wants sweaty legs – but then again, it’s a small price to pay for looking so damn good.
Thanks to my good friends at Windsor Smith, with whom I’ve recently had the pleasure of teaming up with for their autumn March campaign – my TH (thigh high) and OTK (over the knee) cravings are satisfied. I’ve chosen eight different styles of autumn/winter footwear to style for the cooler season (if you’re on the other side of the globe, it’s cool – y’all can still rock them too) – that I’ve split into two posts, the first and foremost being this one with THs and OTKs, the second being ankle boots which will come later in the week.
If you ain’t a cat lover, then turn away. Or stay – because this little guy just might have pussycat persuasion…
One style shoe. Two colourways. Two ways I’ve worn them. Limitless combinations. Shoes too fly I had to have in both my favourite shades – in black, and in white. Ahh Sophia Webster, you’ve stolen my heart yet again. And Luisaviaroma, you just keep me (and my feet) so happy. And lookin’ oh, so fly…
In case you haven’t noticed, I’m partial to shoes. I mean what normal, warm blooded female isn’t? Of course I love clothing, but shoes for me are like the garnish; the topping, and that thing that just makes you go ‘wow’. I make shoe contact before I make eye contact, and that’s saying something. For me, no heel is too high, no design too bold – if I could conquer them all (the nice ones) – I would. Can you blame me? When there’s beauties like these, how can you not?
2016, I’m ready for you! I wanted to bring on the new year with something special, something memorable – and this is it.
