Finally. My first leather harness, courtesy of Saxony. Actually, the whole outfit (minus the bag and shoes) is from Saxony. I’ve always loved these guys for their monochrome and very grayscale styling, with clean lines and dark, sporty appeal. Their range is always so consistent that it eliminates the need for anyone to think too hard about putting a complete from the store without feeling like the outfit is wearing you.
Now that the weather is better I can finally do the shorts-suit thing, I love a good blazer-and-bottom combination and this particular set comes in the most unusual, almost mesh-like fabric – it’s just perfect. I’ve never turned a great silk tank down and I think the harness is the perfect accessory for a look like this – without feeling like a Norwegian yodeler. So I’m excited about it.
See the thing with harnesses is, and the reason for the two year-long gap since wearing anything with a harness (the last time being a couple of years ago with hip-length, half-shaved hair in an all-black, full-length, leather-harnessed All Saints piece), is that I’ve always felt like some kind of dominatrix, goth or Norwegian yodeler. Add the constantly changing hairstyles (and not to mention styles of dressing), it never felt ‘right’. Now thanks to Saxony, I can now wear a leather harness without any paranoia.
This Saxony outfit has just dropped in stores and online so now y’all can get some.
