What a more poetic way to conclude my Westfield #ownyourstory style series than to wear one of my favourite colours (and drink) – rosé – during a beautiful sunset with similar hues; a symbolic celebration of this campaign, and of my personal style.
Some may call it pastel pink, others call it blush – everyone sees colour differently but in my eyes, and in this sunset, the only colour I was seeing was rosé. Kinda like that saying – ‘like looking through rose coloured glasses’. In this instance, as the lighting perfectly complemented and enhanced the colours of my final ensemble – it was as if I was doing just that.
Just because the colder season is upon us, doesn’t mean we necessarily need to don our darkest (or winter whitest) apparel – at times I like to wear soft shades to contradict the weather and work in harmony with the autumn colour wheel of warm, autumn shades. Here, it’s rosé. Believe it or not, as I type these final words of my style stories and start to wind it down, I’m sipping on a nice, sparkling glass of rosé.
For this closing ensemble of the series, I wanted the theme to be soft, feminine and special. Winter never stopped us from continuing our social lives and I wanted to style an outfit that reflected my personal style, embrace my feminine side and yet appropriate for this unpredictable Melbourne weather. I found this Zimmermann silk dress perfect for going out – the soft pleats, folds and drapes with its Grecian silhouette and feminine feels is right for pretty much any special occasion you have this season. To keep warm, I’ve draped this Witchery wool coat over the dress that conveniently shelters me from the winter winds as I make my way to and from the special event, and also ideal to wear casually and with almost any outfit. The length couldn’t be better as it shields my bare legs. And to compliment the look, but not take away from it, I’ve paired with these scalloped lace up sandals in a pale shade of nude by Wanted Shoes.
I hope you’ve enjoyed reading my posts, hearing my stories and seeing my styling for this amazing campaign I’ve been so fortunate to be involved in and proudly promote as an ambassador, just as much as I have creating and sharing them with you. I consider myself to be more like a style chameleon, with many different sides but sharing the same essence – unique, personal, constantly evolving and feminine with an edge. I love mixing up my look, playing around with trends and styles, taking away a piece from each to make it my own, and experimenting with whatever I feel is right at the time. Remember there’s really no rule that you need to adhere to when it comes to fashion; just make it your own, make it unique, tell a story – and own it. The true essence of a fashion lover – and the meaning behind #ownyourstory. It’s about doing just that – embrace your inner and outer beauty, your personal style and share it as you choose.
Huge thanks to the amazing team at Westfield for having me play an integral part in this fun yet meaningful and empowering campaign. I’ve uncovered more about my personal style than ever before, and has become a wonderful medium to express with you and share my thoughts in a way I haven’t or would usually do. This entire look is available at westfield.com.au, and if you see a thing or two that resonates with you, feel free to share it and #ownyourstory. And while you’re there, check out their Rose & Rouge trend.
Thanks for listening 😉
